Here at Holiday Cottages Aviemore which is part of Scotland.org.uk we believe we have one of the largest and widest range of holiday cottages in Scotland. You can search for holiday cottages either by size, region or by our cottages map. 95% of all holiday cottages on this site are bookable on line, the rest are by email request. Most bookings will be responded to within 24 hours (normally quicker) apart from at weekends
Booking Holiday Cottages
To book a cottage couldn't be simpler, find the one you like, choose the date and fill out the secure form online; you will need to give credit or debit card details to book.
Most Holiday Cottages are booked weekly normally Saturday to Saturday; however in the quieter months it is possible to book short breaks, also many cottage owners will only accept a short break if it is close to the date.
Things To Check When Booking a Holiday Cottage in Scotland
Most cottages nowadays include all bills, linen and towels, but there is still a few out there that have coin electric meters and charge more for linen and towels. Most places who accept pets normally charge a small fee as it does take longer to clean a cottage because of the hairs etc.
Using our Holiday Cottage Site
We have wanted to try and create something different on this website compared to other holiday cottage sites. We know its a nightmare to try and find a cottage for your holiday, so we created some categories to help define some of the cottages and make it easier for you to find the right place. The cottage map is incredibly popular as you can search by how many people a cottage sleeps and at the same time see where it is on the map. If you feel we are missing a category please let us know and we will add it as soon as possible.
Popular Cottages
Popular cottages tend to be the ones with great views or furnished to a very high standard or large country homes. If you want the best holiday cottages there are two ways of going about it, either book well in advance maybe even a year ahead or be flexible with the dates you can go on holiday.
Star Ratings on Holiday Cottages
Over the years many self catering owners have opted out of the tourist board one star, two star, three star, four star and five star rating system not because their property is not up to scratch but because it is expensive and the Scottish Tourist board do not seem that effective. So don't worry if a property does not have a star rating. Often the best way to see the quality of a holiday cottage is to look at photos of the inside, if a website does not have internal photos of the cottage then that may be a cause for suspicion.
